3D-Design: Modeling
3D-ROBO
In this module we’ve learnt how to use the Cinema4D suite, an award-winning 3D modelling, simulation and animation software developed the German company Maxon.
For this semester’s assignment we had to think of an object we would like to model in 3D.
At the beginning we had to create 3 different concept arts, which were judged on feasibility, creativity, technique and complexity.
I came up with concept art for a Spartan soldier’s helmet, a lava lamp and a robot, which I thought was the coolest of them all and chose in the end.
And then the real work started…
I made a lot of different models using different techniques and watched about a dozen youtube tutorials until I was happy with one of the results.
To get the result I wanted I used different approaches like box modelling, subdivision surfaces, volume mesher&builder and of course the well known trial and error approach.
